Further Information on Beadwork Design

Something I have always wanted to bead, since I first started designing beadwork, was a gingerbread man. I created many designs however, for one reason or another I never got around to beading them, until now! Of course, beading a simple gingerbread man with no back is boring, and at ThreadABead we do not do boring beadwork! So, we decided to make him double sided! So, why is it a happy sad gingerbread man? Well at the front is a happy smiling gingerbread man but flip him over and this one is not so happy as someone has taken a great big bite out of him! This gingerbread man is made using Round peyote and uses only delica beads. The shaping of the gingerbread is done as you go so there is no sewing two pieces of beadwork together and no awkward shaped edges to sew, making it an enjoyable and fun pattern to bead. As usual with ThreadABead featured patterns we give full detailed instructions and, in this pattern, there are 41 detailed steps, making this pattern even suitable for beginners to beading. This bead pattern is made using Japanese Miyuki size 11 Delica. A form of Round Peyote stitch is used but full detailed instructions are given, and no previous knowledge of the stitch is required. Please note the pattern may not work with any other size and type of beads. There are 8 delica colours in total and the finished beadwork is approximately 6cm (w) x 8 cm (h) (not including loop). Polyester wadding is also required. The bead pattern supplied is 27 pages and includes 41 step by step photographic instructions. A colour word chart is provided where required.
