Growing up in the UK we always used the term Father Christmas as much as we did Santa Claus. Although the terms are largely synonymous, in my head Father Christmas was just Santa in old fashioned clothing. …. before he discovered his bright red outfit with short coat which was, of course, much more practical for jumping out of sleighs.
I have always had a fondness for what I call a traditional Father Christmas i.e. with a long decorative coat. And I though why not try to create that vintage look in beads!
I hope I have done him justice, down to his little lantern guiding the way (after all even he didn’t have electricity back in olden times). Of course, I also realized I could turn him into a secret box and well it would be rude not to!
